NEET UG Counselling Postponed The NEET UG counselling process was scheduled to begin from today (July 6, 2024). According to the news, the authorities want to wait for the Supreme Court’s hearing on July 8 on NEET UG.
NEET UG counselling deferred : NEET UG counselling has been postponed till further notice. However, the reason behind the postponement of counselling has not been revealed by the Medical Council Committee (MCC), the committee that conducts NEET UG counselling.
Actually, the NEET UG counselling process was scheduled to start from today (July 6, 2024). Now the counselling process has been postponed until further orders from the MCC. According to the news, the authorities to wait for the court hearing on July 8 on NEET UG. The top court is scheduled to hear on July 8 a batch of petitions, including those alleging irregularities in the NEET UG examination held on May 5. Earlier, petitions were filed in the Supreme Court to stay the NEET UG counselling first on June 11 and then on June 20 in view of the leak and irregularities. On both occasions, the court had refused to stay the counselling. “We are not doing that, if exams have continued, if exams continue, counselling should also continue, don’t worry,” the bench had said.

The Supreme Court will resume normal work from July 8 after a two-and-a-half-month summer break. In this period, many students, coaching institutes have filed petitions against NEET UG Result 2024. On Monday, there will be a debate on paper leak and exam cancellation.
